Do You Suck? The Truth About REAL Vampires

Published by Dark Passenger at 8:27 pm under Vampires and Vampirism Edit This

We’ve all heard the legends and myths of immortal creatures who come out only at night to feed on our blood.  Some of the vampire tales strike fear in our hearts, terrifying us at the very thought of Satan’s minions coming after us, ensconced in shadow.  Other stories make the liquid diet life seem…appealing.  Perhaps it’s those yummy men of Hollywood making getting bit not seem like an ordeal that would surely bite - big time.  Of course, we all know none of this is real; it’s all just scary good fun.

You sure about that?

Don’t get me wrong…As far as most research has shown, the immortal bloodsuckers who turn us mere mortals to vampires by draining us of our blood and then having us ingest their uber-powerful vampiric blood don’t exist.  (And if they do, they’re a well-kept secret).  Mortals who drink blood, on the other hand, DO exist.  You might even work with a few and not know it.

Humans who feel some sort of a biological need to ingest human blood are known as sanguinarian vampires. (I’ll make it plain why I’m drawing that definition in moment.  Stick with me).  But be very clear on this point, sanguinarian or sang vampires are still very much human.  They still require food in addition to the blood they drink.  They are NOT immortal, nor will they turn to dust or burst into flame when faced with direct sunlight.  They don’t all have blazing red eyes.  Not all are satanic cult members and they aren’t demon half-breeds.

They don’t stop speeding cars from crushing hapless high school girls with their bare hands.

What they may have is an aversion or a sensitivity to sunlight.  They might be lactose intolerant.  Their eyes might see better in relative darkness than bright light.  Some might even have the same reflective “glow” in the dark quality to their eyes as a cat.  Most, if not all, find they’re drawn to the night, some even to the point of severe bouts of insomnia.  Untold numbers might be sitting around you weekly at church, regardless of your faith.

I have to ask those who were so certain at the beginning of this blog that vampires were the stuff of fantasy and nothing more:  Does any of this sound familiar?  Are you still sure it’s fake?

You still positive YOU aren’t a vampire?

Sure, quite obviously you would know if you drank human blood with your morning waffles.  I’m not saying sanguinarian vampires sleep drink and then wake up wondering why there’s blood on their pillow.  What I did say is there was more than one kind of vampire out there; a vampire who doesn’t feed on blood at all.

Commonly referred to as psychic vampires, psi-vampires, or energy vampires, feed upon just what you think they would: energy.  And some aren’t even aware they do it.  Do you (energy) suck without knowing it?

Join me tomorrow for Part 2 of The Truth About REAL Vampires when I’ll discuss psi-vampires in more detail.

HEY!  If you found any of what I had to say informative, entertaining, thought-provoking…or you just want more people to come here to make fun of me, don’t forget to use those little buttons at the bottom of the posts to spread the word about me.  And of course, drop me a comment while you’re here to let me know what you think. Kiss

I know what you mean. It’s not like I thought they were around in an Anne Rice sort of way, but some legends don’t die out for a reason…

    Oooh…maybe you’re a vampire. :P

Hmmm…Some of this does sound familiar, though I’m wondering if it’s all wishful thinking on my part….

Kuri - That’s the hard part about it. Sometimes it can be difficult to know what’s real and what’s imagined because the mind makes so much real for us…
