Why Bother Blogging?

Published by Dark Passenger at 8:06 pm under Darkives Edit This

dsc00034.JPGWell, today was supposed to be one of my little motivational posts since I’ve been writing how-to articles on happiness and spreading joy and the occasional humorous blurb here and there, but then I logged in to discover my beautiful dark flowery background is going bye-bye and there’s nothing I can do about it.  So welcome to my dark passenger’s rant on how I’m ready to throw in the blogging towel and walk away while muttering under my breath.

Oh, you wouldn’t know this, but that’s Sydney Cat’s annoyed face in the picture. Yell

Funny what a difference 24 hours can make.  I was absolutely on the top of the world yesterday when Part 3 of my series on REAL Vampires got featured on here in two different places.  Yeah, I think I was actually jumping up and down at one point because my dark passenger can be a dark dork over writing stuff.

*takes a deep breath to attempt calming the inner darkness…to NO avail*

I get that y’all are probably reading this and wondering why I even care.  I mean, you probably don’t even like the green and gray I’ve got going here with the little black flowers curling about.  Truth be told, I’m not a fan of that happy green either, but I NEEDED the black and gray and floral motif to tie into my website for when it officially opens.  Y’all haven’t seen it yet, but I lucked into finding layouts so similar you’d think this blog was a happier green version of the site.  I was even contemplating making this the official place to view something for my site…*grumble, grumble*

So what now?  I’ve got no clue.  None.  No idea.  I know I’ll be back tomorrow to discuss some more vampy goodness, but beyond that…*shrugs*

“Let your dark passenger come out to play…Be your own nemesis!”

Grumble, grumble. Me too. I left you a PM at Kickstart.

I hear you. I’m kind of torn. I like writing here for fun, but there is so much more money elsewhere. I am thinking about just moving to a wordpress blog… I have one there that I use solely for promoting my writing and I get more hits per day than I do working my butt off at Today.

I can see it. Can you?

I like the border a LOT. I can’t say I write for the money…it keeps me motivated to write my novel…

If you do move, let me know where you are!

*gasps in horror* I don’t think I’ve responded to a single comment since I’ve been so focused on researching. *smacks hand* Bad Jen…bad!

Catana - I haven’t been back to KS since figuring out there was nothing for me to do there, but I’ll make a point to go check out your message.

Madrigalblue - I hear ya! I’m still torn as well. Over here it’s not really about the money or the time it takes that has me in a tizzy over this…it’s the principle of the thing, I think…

Star - I love you pieces chickie, but I don’t have the foggiest what you’re referring to. Is this an “I see dead people” kind of thing or something else? I mean, I see lots of things. I’ve even seen a bunny with a pancake on their head… :P

Shakespeare - I keep meaning to get back in touch with you! I went over to your blog after you first left a comment for me on one of my vampire blogs and then my evil computer locked up on me before I could leave you a comment. Grr…Boo to vile viruses!!! Anyway…I like the border as well. When y’all see how close it is really is to my website, you’ll get it…or you’ll still think I’m a dork, but that’s okay too.

It’s good to have things to keep you motivated on the novel front. Star keeps me motivated to finish my final edits because I know she’ll kick my butt if I don’t release it soon. ;) I’ll definitely let readers know if I’m leaving, even though I probably wouldn’t leave all together, just not post as often… *shrugs*

Thanks everyone for all the comments. You may not know this, but I’m sort of a feedback whore so I really appreciate knowing peeps are reading what I have to say!

Where can I earn more money?!

Ah sigh. The ‘new’ theme screws up with Adblock plus with me, plus I try to avoid narrow templates like the plague, so who knows what I’ll do. :( I don’t have any other avenues to earn monayz blogging, though, so I’ll probably stay here..

    Comment whores unite! :D

Hellz yeah! *punches fist up into the air to show off her nifty comment whore decoder ring*

I can’t even see the ads on my blog so I may not even realize there’s been a change to the layout. I mean, I still see my template…maybe it’s changed and my demon computer just isn’t showing me yet. ;)

I’m probably not te best person to ask about making money. I mean, I made literally tens of dollars last month…but I haven’t been doing it all that long so that’s probably about right.

Wondering when this theme change takes place. So far, I’m still seeing everybody’s different themes, including my own. .

Last I heard, they were going to run a beta test on select blogs first - no clue which blogs - so I don’t know that there’s a definite drop date for the new theme. If I hear differently, I’ll let you know.

    Thanks.

I keep trying to find the time to read your series on real vampires. I’m not a diehard fan, but it’s a fascinating subject. I do seem to have acquired (somehow) a small collection of good vampire movies and books.

    Oh I like vampires!
they are so sexy when they rip someones throat out with their spiky teeth and they drink blood like wine.

    Nice blog!

I don’t know what to say…I’ve got a thing for vampire lore, I guess. I can’t help writing about it. I mean, tonight I’m supposed to be writing about something else and I’m thinking about vampires.

    Hmm…this could be bad. ;)
