Under Attack: The Truth About REAL Vampires

Published by Dark Passenger at 5:09 am under Vampires and Vampirism Edit This

Are you within the eye of the vampire?Hello fellow dark passengers.  Welcome to our first Fang Bangin’ Friday.  Of course, anyone who’s been following this blog already knows this is far from our first look at real vampires.  To recap, we’ve already covered sanguinarian vampires , psi-vampires , vampiric origins , the vampire awakening and what real vampires look like. (Please click on the links to view any parts of the series you may have missed.)

Today, we turn our attention to what to do if you feel you’re the subject of a vampire attack.

Okay, first things first…let me go ahead and show some love to a few of the many sites I’ve found useful during my research: Ask Claudia and Sanguinarius are both places where you’ll find information pertinent to today’s topic.  Also, let us agree that if you’re being attacked by a sanguinarian vampire, you’ll most likely notice someone trying to drink your blood so fighting them off is going to be an instinctual reaction.  I’m not going to go into any more on this as self-defense techniques are outside the scope of this conversation.

That leaves us with psi-vampires or psychic vampires.

I’m sorry to say it, but defense against unscrupulous psi-vampires and others with psychic abilities and dark intentions is no easy feat.  Shielding is a psychic technique that requires one to put time and energy into honing their abilities to perfect.  From what I understand, even those without overt psychic gifts should still be able to create some level of shield; however, if the person on the attack is of a higher skill/strength level then they will be able to eventually get through a shield.

Though it may be an exercise in futility if dealing with someone of great skill, it is still advisable to at least learn the basics of shielding yourself.  If you visit 5 sites to find information on psychic shielding then you’ll find perhaps a dozen different techniques.  The key is to take what you can from each technique and figure out what works best for you.

The resources provided will be your best source of information, but let me summarize some of the basics of shielding:

  • Meditate - Allowing yourself to be quiet and still for a period of time will allow you to more easily tap into your strength, as well as any latent psychic abilities you may possess.
  • Visualize - This is a little different for everyone, but the mechanics are the same.  Once you’ve found your center, envision a white light - or whatever other image works for you - surrounding your body, covering you completely.  This is your shield.
  • Shape - Shield can be in any number of shapes.  Some prefer the simplicity of a round or oval shield while others find the more complex angular shields to be most effective.  Still others prefer a shield that is form fitting to their skin to allow the least amount of space between them that could be exploited by an attacker.
  • Color - Just as with the aura, color represents different emotions in shielding.  Whatever color one uses for their shield will block out all emotions except for that of represented by their shield’s color.  This is a common preference for empaths and some of the most sensitive psi-vampires as negative and destructive emotions can be detrimental to them for obvious reasons while the positive energy of happiness and love lack the harmful side effects.
  • Power Sources - The two most common energy sources for shields are self-powered and environmentally powered.  Both have their own drawbacks.  A person using their own stores of energy to power their shield can risk finding themselves in a weakened state when they can no longer sustain their shield, becoming more vulnerable to attack.  One who uses an external power source, even one as abundant as natural energy, is vulnerable to being cut off from the source fo their energy.

Also keep in mind that during periods of prolonged attack, it is necessary to keep the shield up at all times.  The only way to do this is to develop your ability to the point where the shielding is an unconscious thing done.  I cannot stress enough that the only way to achieve that is through considerable practice.  Shielding of any kind is not the sort of thing a novice with no latent psychic abilities will be able to try one time and master.  Things worth doing take effort.  This is no different.

As I wrap this up, I’d like to leave you with a final message about real vampires, both sanguinarian and psi.  The vast majority of them utilize donors who are well-informed of the risks involved with giving of either their blood or pranic energy and they consent before a vampire feeds.  Hollywood has greatly fictionalized the way vampires feed; attacks in dark alleys are hardly the norm.  While no group can be completely void of those with ill-intent towards others, psi-vampire attacks on the uniformed and unconsenting are not typically intentional.  Remember, an unawakened psi-vampire can feed without being aware of what they’re doing, or even their very nature.

But how do vampires, especially the newly awakened, know what behavior is acceptable?  Make sure to come back for our next Fang Bangin’ Friday where will discuss the code under which vampires live.

And of course, don’t forget to pop back in tomorrow for our first ever Supernatural Saturday!  Oooh…and if you feel so inclined, make sure to Stumble me, Buzz me up, Digg me, bookmark me on Delicious and share me with any of your friends who mind enjoy this!

I have to say I enjoyed the blogs and was much more interesting than the homework I should be doing >>…lol
At any rate, it has informed me on different theories and what not, which I greatly appreciate….
[Why do I always sound like some sort of review critic while I write responses? -_-]
I think I’ll have to check out the rest of the website and see what else fancies me.

Kuri - I really hope you eventually did get to that homework. I doubt knowledge of the paranormal is going to help you much if you get a pop quiz. ;)

Don’t worry about sounding like a review critic. I like to know what information I write helps people or interests them. Besides, I do the same thing when I’m on other people’s blogs. :)

I got my homework done late into the night, but still done… It probably wouldn’t help me, but I’d rather read about vampires than study for some quiz that I’d probably pass because I pay attention in class…most of the time….

Anyways, I guess I need to email you if I have a question instead of randomly asking it here….

I know the feeling. I should be writing wedding articles, but I can’t seem to focus on them when I know True Blood and Dexter are both recording…

Actually, I do make an effort to respond to all of my blog comments so I actually saw this in my inbox before I saw your e-mail. (But I’m glad you sent that via e-mail instead of putting it here since I really wouldn’t want random whackjobs who may stumbled across this post to try answering it for you. ;)
