I Am the Vampire Mistress of the Steely Moon
Yes, you read that right, dark passengers…My vampire name is Mistress of the Steely Moon. Apparently, I’m also a child of the Moon Goddess - or something to that effect - so I am of the light of the night. Cool, huh?
Welcome to Fang Bangin’ Friday.
Tonight I thought I would bring you some of the more unusual things one might find while conducting a vampire search on the internet. Most of what you find are those claiming to be vampires, vampire fiction and communities for vampires to congregate, but sometimes you might just run across those few oddities that make you smile, say WTF or make you sick to your stomach. And guess who loves you enough to bring you a sampling of all three in a single post? Yep. That would be me, Vampire Mistress of the Steely Moon. Who loves ya, baby!
Makes Me Say WTF?
Do you want to take a walk on the vampire side and sample their elixir of choice? Check out Vampire Vineyards. Sorry to disappoint, but if you’re looking for vampiric blood then you’ll be sorely disappointed. Well, unless you’re willing to believe that vampire blood tastes like a nice Merlot.
Makes Me Sick
Are you so sure you’re a vampire that you want to take that belief to the next level by treating vampirism like a religion? Well, you can do that if you’d like as there are sites for that as well. Why am I not giving you a link to this vamp site - or to any of the sites speaking out against it? Well, besides the fact that the “fang” religion seems to be little more than a money-grubbing cult with a vampire twist, they basically blaspheme every single religion out there. As for those who would discount a vampire religion, they go out of their way to prove that it is nothing more than “Christian brainwashing” at its best.
Frankly, I find that to be insulting to both Christianity and the very concept of a vampire religion. I’m not withholding the links because of my own personal beliefs; I’m withholding it because, while often sarcastic and cheeky, my overview of the various faiths expressed on this blog are without malice or mocking. Linking to a site that does that would be in direct opposition to the stated purpose of Spiritual Sampling Sundays. (Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know this is Friday, but being a hypocrite on Friday would still make me a hypocrite. *shrugs*)
Makes Me Smile
And finally, the Vampire Mistress of the Steely Moon comes to the Vampire Name Generator. This one is just good fun. I’m a dork who loves name generators for some reason so the idea of having my very own vampire name rocks my socks off…if I weren’t already barefoot, that is. In addition to vampire goodness, you can get your fairy name on the site, view some poetry and try out the poetry generator. Just take off the vampire part in the URL and there you go. Have fun.
Didn’t love this post? Well, it’s your own fault. You’ve had a whole week to send me your vampire questions and I haven’t gotten anything. If there’s something else you’d like to know about vampires then it’s time to step up and make it known, yo!

Here are my results:
The Great Archives determine you to have gone by the identity:
Genevieve Vigée-Lebrun
Known in some parts of the world as:
Leto of The Winged Death
The Great Archives Record:
Comes on silent wings in the night and wraps a deadly cloak about the victim; impartial as a die, unyielding as stone.
ha!
Let me see.
Magdalene Papillon–okay, high tower, butterflies, I think I can live with that.
Known in some cultures as “Devil of the Horned One”–I suppose that explains why the archives say “Sworn to one more ancient than the devil.”
Odd. I was expecting more nighttime imagery, or something having to do with skinchanging. Guess it doesn’t know me too well.
Hi Jen,
Just stopping by again to let you know that I’ve promoted your blog over at The Costumer. http://thecostumer.today.com/2009/01/17/if-you-like-this-blog/
Tara
Love your name! Mine is, Giselle Tussaud. And known in some parts, Athene of the Banat.
The great Archives Record says…. A true child of the night, making merry of everything and light of life.
I thought that was pretty accurate

Daisy - You bring up some great questions that I think I’ll have to answer as part of this week’s Fang Bangin’ Friday.
