Paranormal Investigator Interview - Lonewolf

Published by Dark Passenger at 8:08 pm under Paranormal Investigations Edit This

The Lone Wolf Wanders Alone in the Dark…but why?Happy Wednesday, dark passengers.  Tonight, we continue hearing from the REAL paranormal investigators out there.  And before you ask, Lonewolf has an actual name, but I really like his nickname so that’s what I’m using.  You can learn more about him by following the link in the sidebar to Paranormal Investigations of North Texas.

Here we go!

Jen: How long have you been investigating the paranormal?

Lonewolf:  I’ve been actively investigating for the last 5 months.  Just about the start of our group PINTX.

J: How did you get involved in paranormal investigations?

L: I answered an ad that was posted on Craig’s List of all places.  (Jen’s note: Oddly enough, that’s not only how I found this paranormal group, but also how I found my current day job.  Who’d a thunk it?)

J: What do you hope to accomplish?

L: Certainly the existence of paranormal activity, but more so the helping of people who are either scared of the surroundings.  Many times it helps just to be there for them when they need it.

J: What is your role?

L: I’m a senior investigator and technician.  I handle the IR Video (Infrared) for night or restricted lighting.  Along with that, I help the founder in maintain an organization that helps strengthen the team. As part of the investigation process I also do EVP and debunking.

J: What is your approach to a new case?

L: I like to view the place prior to the investigation and get a layout of the area for camera placement. I also like to walk the area and listen with ears, eyes and feeling for something that may seem different or out of place.

J: What kind of equipment do you use on an investigation?

L: As I stated before, I have the IR camera, KII, and EMF reader.  Both the KII and EMF readers are devices used to communicate to the spirits using lights and/or numbering system for pick up magnetic anomalies’ in the area. We also have thermometers, audio recording devices, and conventional cameras.

J: In your opinion, what is most often mistaken for paranormal?  (When it isn’t)

L: In my opinion that world be ORBS or balls of light energy.  Nine out of ten times it’s either dust lit up by the camera lights or light reflections.  During investigating, I’ve seen more “ORBS” that are nothing more than dust in the air.  This is part of the debunking process.  A new investigator will get all excited if he captures it only to be let down when it’s found to be dust.

J: Do you think the ghost hunting/paranormal shows on TV are a good representation of what investigating is really like? Why or why not?

L: Some are but I see many that are not.  One thing you don’t see on television is the long tedious hours where nothing is happening.  The second thing they don’t show is the days it takes to go over all the data collected.  It doesn’t all happen in a neat one hour package but more like a week or so by the time everyone goes over the information and put in the interpretation of the findings.

J: In your opinion, what is the most common misconception about paranormal investigators/investigations?

L: That we are a bunch of nuts who see things that aren’t there or we’re people who live in mom’s basement until we’re in our 40s.  All in all, each of us have a  family, job and responsibilities like everyone else.  We just have a belief that we are there to provide a service to people who think they may have a paranormal active home.  Most of us just want to help people feel safe in their homes.

J: Is there anything else you think people should know about what you do?

L: We are serious about what we do and enjoy doing it.  It’s a hobby or vocation that allows us to a group setting where we can talk to each other and know that we all share the same goal and experiences.  We take what we do very seriously and rules and guidelines set in place to ensure the team’s and client’s safety.

Any comments for Lonewolf, y’all?  Don’t forget to check out his thoughts on psychic abilities!

Jen

How interesting and spooky. One always wonders how people get into this type of business.

I know what you mean. I always did too. I’m just glad a few of them have been willing to share their experiences with us so it’s not just me talking about it all the time.
